With 2016’s B-Squad coach Michelle Henkel unable to come back for the 2017 season, the Roseville Girls Soccer program added a new member to its coaching staff, Charlie Kiland.
Charlie grew up in Shoreview [on Lake Owasso] and attended Kellogg High School and was part of the first graduation class of Roseville Area High School (1987). After high school Charlie attended St. Mary’s College in Winona. At the present time he works as an insurance agent for Farmers.
Charlie played soccer for NSSA from U6 to U19. He played in the first USA Cup and competed in the Norway Cup. At Kellogg High School Charlie played varsity for three years and ended his senior year tied for assists and was second in scoring. He was named to the All-Conference Team his senior year.
Charlie has played soccer his entire life and has done his fair share of coaching as well. Charlie has been an assistant coach at Coon Rapids High School and Chippewa Middle School.
Charlie describes himself as a tenacious soccer player who wants to give back to the sport he is so passionate about.
